A Loch Lomond proposal

As a wedding photographer, one of my favourite questions to ask my brides and grooms is “how did he/she/they propose?” I love hearing the story, whether it was on holiday, at Christmas or New Year, whilst watching TV or hiking their favourite hill! But something I love even more than hearing the story, is seeing it! Being a Loch Lomond wedding photographer, I love being part of your day from start to end, but it’s is amazing to be there for the proposal too, especially if it’s in and around Loch Lomond! So you can imagine my joy when Kristopher contacted me via my contact form (https://www.heather-jayne.co.uk/contact/) saying that he would love for me to capture him proposing to his then girlfriend (now fiancée!!) in Luss, Loch Lomond.

So we hatched a plan! As I live in Helensburgh and know Loch Lomond very well through shooting weddings and engagement sessions around the Loch Lomond area, we were able to pick the perfect spot in Luss, Loch Lomond, easily!

The day arrives, Saturday 24th September, the sun is shining, I park up in Luss and head to my hiding spot on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond ready to capture the proposal!

I spot 2 figures and a wee dog (by the way I love dogs, so including one, or two, or three, in your proposal is just amazing!!) walking towards me! Having already told Kris where I was hiding and which way to have Caol facing for the perfect proposal shot, I waited patiently. The sun was shining, Ben Lomond was looking amazing, as they reached the water’s edge, Caol held the dog lead and Kris got down on one knee!! It was amazing!! The smile on Caol’s face was so big her cheeks must have been sore.

After letting them have a moment between them and capturing everything as it unfolded I popped out of my hiding place (much to Caol’s surprise) and congratulated the newly engaged couple! It was an honour to be able to be the first person to say “Congratulations! You’re engaged!!” we then did a mini engagement shoot on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.

After delivering the final proposal pictures to the newly engaged couple, they both said how much they loved having those memories captured on the day! Every time they looked at the pictures, they remembered the happiness they felt as Kris proposed and Caol said yes! They may have had a big drive in the morning, but I think it’s safe to say a trip to Luss, Loch Lomond, was well worth it!

Considering popping the question? Get in contact to arrange a proposal session. I am now a recommended proposal photographer for Cameron House Hotel (https://www.cameronhouse.co.uk/).
