A wonderfully unique wedding venue!

House for an Art Lover (https://www.houseforanartlover.co.uk/) is a unique and inspiring venue set within Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park. House for an Art Love is an amazing wedding venue for a wedding photographer! So many places to take those special photos that couples will remember and treasure forever.

In 2022 I had two weddings at this beautiful wedding venue, and what amazing days they both were!

Friday 1st July 2022

The first on Friday July 1st, a hot and sunny day for a wedding! Bridal prep started within the Native apartments in Glasgow (https://nativeplaces.com/property/native-glasgow/) overlooking George Square. Here Michelle and her bridal team relaxed with some bubbly and got glam ahead of the wedding day celebrations at House for an Art Lover. I love to capture these moments before a bride is fully ready, everyone is relaxed and having a laugh, it’s a great time to capture some candid bridal moments.

Once we were wedding ready, we moved to House for an Art Lover before the ceremony. Here I was able to meet up with our groom for the day, Jamie, and get a couple of shots of him on his own before the big ‘I do’ moments.

The wedding ceremony took place in the main hall, a beautifully intimate room detailed with Mackintosh Stencilling. An intimate space for an intimate ceremony filled with lots of love and laughter. After the ceremony we went outside to take some group pictures, this is the ideal time as it’s before any of your wedding guests disappear off to the bar or looking for canapés.

We were then able to go into the gardens and get some couples pictures, ones Michelle and Jamie would treasure from their wedding day. This time is so precious, newly married, you barely get any time to yourselves so it is lovely just to take bride and groom away for some wedding pictures of just the two of them.

The speeches were up next in the Music room, and of course Michelle rocked the room with her words on the day. It seems to be a growing trend for brides to give a speech on their wedding day, and I’m all for it! It’s your special day, so why not! Your wedding day should be exactly how you want it to be.

Before those feet start hurting too much, it’s time for a first dance, another special moment in a wedding day. After this I always try to take my couples back out for a sunset or night type shot. This just gives my couples an extra special memory from their wedding day. Of course this is weather dependant, but to be honest, I love going out in the rain as I get to create some beautiful pictures, and as I live near Loch Lomond, shooting weddings in the rain comes with the territory.

Friday 12th August 2022

A month later, on Friday 12th August, I was back at this beautiful wedding venue. This time with Charlene and Gary. Charlene had her bridal prep at home with her nearest and dearest, and what a great morning we had, so much laughter with this family.

All ready to go, and Charlene moved to House for an Art Lover, here the ceremony was in the beautiful Main hall, and both Charlene and Gary had the biggest smiles the WHOLE way through the ceremony! I’m surprised their cheeks weren’t hurting, mine were! Ceremonies are one of my favourite parts of a wedding day as you learn all about the couple’s love story and it’s wonderful to see your couple reliving their story as it is described to the guests present.

After our ceremony we were outside for some group and couples pictures. This time we used the spaces are the building for couples pictures, this allowed us to create some wedding photos with a difference, for one, we had an elephant in some of them!

Speeches are in the fantastically bright and airy Music room. Charlene and Gary has designed the room so that all their guests sat a long banquet style table, it was lovely and felt like everyone was one big family. A great personal touch my couple had put on the day to make their wedding day special.

The evening called for some more couples pictures in the setting sun before some great dance moves from both bride and groom as well as bride and her dad! This family were so much fun, I was smiling and laughing the whole wedding day!

Charlene and Gary had a large album and parent albums within their chosen wedding photography package, and it was so lovely seeing these beautiful photos in print! Now a days everyone wants digital copies, but there is something very special about having physical copies of your photographs printed out. Whether that is in the form of wall art, prints in frames, or albums. Personally I love wedding albums, these are high quality products that you can cherish for years to come.
